July 16, 17 & 18  (Tues, Weds & Thurs)
Afternoon Workshop
Alexander Calder meets Peter Reynolds with Diane Sher
1 – 3 p.m.   $95
For students entering Grades 2 through 5
Inspired by the book “Going Places”, you’ll create your own 3D sculpture using clay, wire, wood, cardboard, hot glue, duct tape and more! We will look at the work of Andy Warhol and then get to it!  Your design, your way, using your own ideas.  You can’t go wrong!

July 22 – 26   (Mon-Fri)
Pottery Around the World with Carolyn Shedd
9:15 – noon    $230
For students entering Grades 2 and Older
Learn hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques as we focus on pottery from other cultures.  Students will use coiling methods, slabs and pinch pots to make vessels inspired by the Greeks, Mexicans and Italians.  Finish your pots and sculptures using a variety of glazing techniques, including majolica designs, sgraffito and more.

Open Studio with Elaine Levin
10:15 – 12:15   $175
For students entering Middle School and Older
A relaxed morning of drawing/painting a subject you choose, using pencils, colored pencils, charcoal, watercolor or acrylic.  Choose your favorite medium and discover your own style.  Color theory and drawing techniques will be discussed.

July 29 – August 2   (Mon-Fri)
NEW Guest Teacher/Artist!    Painting Class – Acrylic or Oil – Your Choice
with Mary Anne Cahan
10:15 – 12:15   $175
For students entering 7thGrade and Older
Have fun painting with either water-based oil or acrylic.  Mary Anne will guide you along the way.

July 30 – August 1   (Tues, Weds & Thurs)
Morning Workshop
The World of Eric Carle with Diane Sher
10:15 – 12:15    $95
For students entering Grade 1 and Older
Paint and design your own multi-colored paper using tempera paints, combs, sticks, brushes, sponges, Q-tips and more.  Cut paper will be shared with the group.  We’ll design pieces of art using Eric Carle’s beautifully illustrated books as inspiration. Story writing is next if time permits.

August 5 – 9  (Mon-Fri)
Media Mix Up! … Handmade Paper, Decoupage and Mosaics with Carolyn Shedd
9:15 – noon    $230
For students entering Grades 1 through 6
Learn the art of paper making!   We’ll make note cards, book marks and collages.   Decoupage is next.  Apply colored decorative paper cutouts, glue and special paint effects to wood.   Lastly, we’ll work with glass to design and create a colorful mosaic.

N E W –  Creative Art Exploration with Elaine Levin

For students entering Grades 1 through 5
Acrylic paints … Craypas … Sharpies … plaster … foil … clay and more!   Students will use their imaginations to create their own unique pieces and projects.  Endless possibilities!

August 12 – 16   (Mon-Fri)
Pottery and its History with Carolyn Shedd
9:00 – noon     $250
For students entering Grades 4and Older
Let’s dig a little deeper into the history of pottery, one of the oldest human inventions.  This session will include students working with clay to produce beautiful hand-built and wheel-thrown works.   Carolyn will share her observations and photos from her travels to Greece, Italy and Stoke-on-Trent (UK) – recognized as the  “World Capital of Ceramics”.   Plenty of opportunities to create pots, vessels, and sculptures that represent works from these areas.

EXTENDED DAY OPTION:  On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday you may stay on for lunch and take Diane’s Workshop

August 13, 14 & 15   (Tues, Weds & Thurs)
Afternoon Workshop
Design Your Own Full-Size Poster with Diane Sher
12:45 – 3 p.m.   $125
For students entering Grades 4 and Older
Spend some time creating your own painting and add words if you like.   A peace poster?  A favorite quote?  A birthday present?   You decide. Acrylic paints on canvas is best. We’ll photograph your work and enlarge it to poster size!

Let’s play with clay – all sort of clay!   Clay that needs firing, Model Magic, Sculpey and Plasticine.   Foods, animals, jewelry, creatures, and more !
